Printing materials and mounts

For simplicity, a single size is now offered in the online gallery, printed on very high quality (and very expensive) 100% rag, 190gsm, matt archival paper. The surface of these art prints is textured, somewhat like watercolour paper, but this does not blur the image.

By using archival material, the life of the image without fading is expected to be extremely long - it should outlive my 'lifetime guarantee', but (like any other artwork) you should not hang it in direct sunlight. The surface of the print is delicate and must be protected from damage by framing behind acrylic or glass. 

All of these Scottish landscape prints are limited to a print run of 500, per size. Each is individually titled and hand-signed.

If you want other sizes you are welcome to contact me if you have special requests.  Every customer has individual needs and I'll try to help you in any way that's possible and reasonable, bearing in mind the restrictions of island life!  I can deliver 20x16" frame size prints to island addresses (actual print size is approx 16 x 11" pluus mount).

When you order a mounted print, it will be printed so that the entire mount aperture is filled by the image, with the titling, number and signature on the mount.  I may need to crop a very small amount from one end or both - this will be done in a way that does not spoil the picture.

The mounts used are full thickness, professionally cut, with a backing board and are in light colours, usually white or cream, but this may vary depending on what suits the subject best.

Post and packing

Packing and delivery of prints in 10 x 8" mounts, to UK destinations, is charged at £2 per order regardless of quantity.  Your prints will normally be sent by a signed for postal service.

If you are ordering from an address in the Isle of Lewis or Isle of Harris, framed prints may be available by hand delivery - please contact me for sizes and prices.

If you are out when the post-person calls, he or she will leave a card with contact details for the local sorting office, so that you can request delivery when you are in, or pick up the package.

In the unlikely event of any damage in transit, please make conatct by email or telephone immediately, so that we may agree the best course of action to rectify the damage.

If you require delivery to a destination outside the UK, please contact me for a delivery cost.

When you place an order using the PayPal system, at the checkout, you have the choice of paying by credit card without opening a Paypal account, or through your Paypal account.

Your credit or debit card details are transmitted directly to and processed by PayPal at the secure server checkout. We receive only the order details - your card details remain secret - neither we nor anyone else sees them.

Making A Purchase

Simply browse the online gallery catalogue, click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart, which is operated on our behalf by Mal's e-commerce, a leading online shopping system. you can change quantities by visiting the 'Basket' page. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Payment and security

Using the PayPal secure payment gateway of which we are a verified member (meaning that PayPal have caried out security checks on us), we accept most major credit and debit cards. Your payment details are submitted through a banking industry standard secure server, so you may have complete confidence in the security levels applied. Your card is debited directly by PayPal and we never see your card details. Should you cancel your order before shipment, or should we be unable to deliver, your card account will be refunded via PayPal. You may also order via phone or post and pay by cheque, if you prefer.

Delivery

Subject to satisfactory payment clearance, orders will normally be printed and dispatched within 7 days, but please allow up to 14 days for delivery. If your order is especially urgent, please phone after placing the prder and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.

For your security, our payment clearance system has a number of built in precautions against fraudulent use of stolen or 'borrowed' cards. We reserve the right to decline orders for which we are unable to obtain satisfactory verification.

You can help us to clear payment quickly by:

Having delivery to the cardholder's billing address.
Providing the landline telephone number for that address (in addition to any mobile number you may wish to provide).
If delivery is not to the cardholder's billing address, we will carry out additional security checks before dispatch.

UK delivery and packing charges are included in the price charged for products. Delivery is normally by a signed for postal service - if you are not in, the post-person will leave a note so that you can re-arrange delivery, or collect from the sorting office.

Enquiries about availability for delivery to other destinations may be made by email or telephone .

Cookies

Until such time as you click the 'transfer to secure server' button on the checkout page, any ordering procedure, such as clicking buttons, checking the shopping basket etc., is processed on your own computer. We do not use cookies to track your progress through the site and have no way of knowing which pages individual visitors have viewed.

The shopping application, however, requires permission to use cookies on your machine, to keep track of your cart contents, remember names and addresses when you ask for them to be remembered and, when relevant, keep you logged on.

Cookies are not used in any way that abuses your privacy or security.

Information about you and your chosen purchase is collected only after you have transferred to the checkout and then only if and when you choose to complete the purchase. Your credit card security is protected by the PayPal secure system. This means that the data you transfer is encrypted and cannot be seen by others as it is transferred to the secure server.

The information collected comprises only that essential to processing your order, namely details of your purchase, your name, address, telephone number. The information is stored on the secure server, password protected, viewed through SSL by our mail order administrator to collect the order information, then deleted. The contents of our site are protected by password and cannot be interfered with. Your card details are collected by the PayPal banking system and processed only by PayPal

Guarantee

All prints supplied are produced using high quality materials and inks. If you are in any way dissatisfied with the permanence of the print, please contact us to arrange a replacement. Guarantees do not cover goods which have been poorly stored, for example in damp conditions or hung in direct sunlight. We honour and will continue to honour all relevant legislation in respect of goods supplied to you.

All warranties and guarantees are additional to and do not affect your statutory rights.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998)

We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.

We will not pass your e-mail address to any other trader or third party, except where it may be helpful to you in resolving any complaint.

We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.

We use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site, but this does not allow us to identify any individual visitor.

In the unlikely event that you receive incorrect or faulty goods, please contact us to arrange resolution of your complaint.

If you complain to us in writing, we promise to acknowledge your complaint promptly (always within 5 days), to tell you how long it will take to resolve the complaint and to keep you informed while we resolve the complaint. In most cases we would expect to resolve the complaint within 5 days of receiving it.

By listening carefully to our customers and responding positively, we find that complaints are rare. When we do receive them, we always check back to make sure that our solution is acceptable and, where appropriate and possible, change our operating systems to prevent repetition of the cause for complaint.

Cancellation.

You have the right to cancel the contract. In order to cancel the contract and if the goods have already been sent, you must return the goods within 7 days of the date that the goods are delivered, with the seal on the clear inner wrapping intact (clear wrapping unopened) and in perfect condition and pay the cost of returning the goods. In case of cancellation, we must return your payment within 30 days of the cancellation.

All refunds will exclude the cost of delivering the product to you, and will not include the cost of returning the product to us.

Statutory rights

All statements, guarantees or warranties in these terms of trading are additional to and do not affect your statutory rights.
